About our difficulty levels
Here’s what each level means so you can pick the right effect for your skill and practice time.
Self-Working
The easy wins. No knuckle-busting sleight of hand, just follow the steps and let the magic do its thing. Brilliant for beginners or when you want something that works straight out of the box. (That said, still give it a little run-through before you unleash it on your mates.)
Easy to Learn
Beginner-friendly with just a couple of simple moves to pick up. Nothing scary—just enough to give you that “I actually know what I’m doing” confidence.
Some Experience Needed
You don’t need years under your belt, but you will need some basics. If double lifts and false cuts sound familiar, you’ll be right at home. If not, a bit of practice will get you there.
Intermediate
A step up. These tricks often need more practice time, smoother handling, or some memory work. Not impossible—just enough to stretch your skills and sharpen your technique.
Advanced
High-level material designed for magicians who want to push themselves. These tricks can take hours of rehearsal and dedication, but the payoff is huge. Master these, and you’re working with performance pieces that set you apart.
